TUESDAY BIBLE STUDY
Topic: The BIBLE Series
Excerpts

The Bible was written in 1875BC while other major books were written from 600AD and they were not apologetic(which means they can't be defended). But the Bible is apologetic(it can be defended with living proofs) and that is why Bible is so current just like the Sun(which hasn't lost its power and heat since creation), yet the Bible is more powerful.

It was written in a span of 1,700 years by about 400 different authors from different works of life and different ages yet they were all inspired by God and this is revealed in the sequence, chronology and connection between all the books in it.
All these forms the Uniqueness of the Bible.

*The Bible contains 66 books
-5 Books of Law
-12 Books of History
-5 Books of Wisdom of literature
-5 Books of the Major Prophets(regarded as major not by the size of the books but on how the Coming of the Messiah is the central theme)
-12 Books of the Minor Prophets( regarded as minor because their central theme is the manifestation of God in the human race)
-4 Books of the Gospel( the authors a live witness to the fulfillment of prophecies about Jesus Christ as they were so privileged to see Him face to face, to a point they confessed that they now believe all that the prophets had said as the Word became flesh and lived with them)
-1 Book of The History of the Church(Acts of the Apostles/Church). They witnessed and lives out the practicality of all Jesus did and preach while on the earth. The people around could testify that they were indeed like Jesus. Though the world initially felt all about Jesus will come to an end with His death on the cross or at most after His Resurrection BUT the acts of the Church proved them wrong, so much that they were called Christians(Christ-like) in Antioch and "those that turn the world up side down" in other parts of the world. This means we can also turn our world upside down where ever we find ourselves be it in our homes, place of work/trade etc.
*This book is One(1) therefore it gives you the opportunity to write your own book of the possibilities of what can be achieved through Christ Jesus.
*Just as we call it the Acts of the Apostles, there can also be the Acts of "Your Name"!
*The way you comport yourself in Christ will write a book about the acts of Christ through you.
*Endeavor to write a book that will not confuse the world, rather write a book of seriousness, a book of truth come what may!

Prayer Point: LORD, I must not miss to write the book of Acts where I am, my family or wherever I find myself. I am ready to write my book, I have wasted enough time, the book must be written!

*When the apostles were in Jerusalem they wrote the book, when they also move to other parts of the world they kept writing the book. It was the book they were writing that was paramount to them and not the prevailing situations of the location(even when others were being killed for writing the book they persisted).
*It is a book for the determined, a book of seriousness.

*The arrival of the book writers changes the prevailing worldly stories around them.

*The writers are the epistles the world reads.
Now define yourself e.g I am a daughter to my parents, student in my school, worker in this company, an elderly spinster, I have a beautiful face but I am using all these to write a book the will show Jesus.

-13 Letters of Paul
-8 General Letters
-1 Revelation Book.
*These are the 66 books in the Bible.

*Only two out of the books are open-ended(because of you and I), it is a fulfillment of Christ's Work: The book of Acts and the book of Revelation.
*We must live in the revelation of the grace of Jesus just like Stephen when he was being stoned, he saw Jesus and not the persecution.

*The Amen at the end of the book of Revelation is Jesus, coming to take and reign even in your home.

THE RIGHT APPROACH TO THE BIBLE
Look as it as answers to your questions or even as a marking scheme.
You don't expect it to conform to your life but you are to make your life to conform to it.
*In Mark 10:17 "...what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?" This should be your approach when reading the Bible.
The man ran after Jesu and when he had caught up with Jesus, he kneeled asking FIRST the most important question(seeking first the kingdom of God). Before you read your Bible for protection, read about He keeping you until you get to Heaven; before you read the Bible for physical blessings read it for spiritual blessings.
*I look forward to a time when people will run after you, kneel and ask about eternal life.
*The man in the passage realized eternal life was not something he could work for but an inheritance but he failed as he still saw Jesus as a man thus he called good master(not Lord, not son of man). Then Jesus introduced God who is the good in any man to him.
*It is unfortunate the story of the man did not end well as seen in Mark 10:19-22. He started backsliding fro verse 20th as he removed good from the title 'Master' which he initially called Jesus, yet Jesus loved him and gave him the opportunity to practicalize all the rules he claimed to keep from his youth by "selling all that he had and giving it to the poor" and the taking up his cross and follow Jesus. But he was grieved and walked away from Jesus wasting such good beginning he had with Jesus.

*The Word of God will give you a conformation, this shouldn't make you grieve rather conform to it! Instead of being grieved, ask questions and you will get answers.

*If you don't ask questions it means you don't want to know about practical Christian living!

CONFESSION: I am a life changer, I dictate how Christian living should be like; I teach how a house wife should live; how a student should write exam; how a job seeker should seek for job etc.
*2 Corinthians 3:2-6
Letters that kill are those that come just to study the Bible(Bible School), they become Pharisees but when you come to Jesus you become a disciple!
That is why people don't come back from the Bible school as born again Christians but as title holders.

*The disciples are the fulfillment of all what Jesus/the Bible has said, they are the epistles of the new testament.

Prayer Point: LORD I want to become BIBLE, to people all around me, make me an epistle!
