Missionary Journeys

The Journey to Ipetu-Ijesa, Nigeria

HOW THE MISSION WORK STARTED
The Bible says all things work together for the good of them that love God. The mission work to Ipetu – Ijesa was such that was divinely orchestrated by God. God himself chose the new king being a Christian to fulfil His divine purpose in Ipetu – Ijesa. Earlier this year, Snr. Pst. T.H.S Ijaopo (a native of Ipetu – Ijesa) and some members of the Yes of God team went to Ipetu – Ijesa to pay a visit to the newly elected King, HRM Adeleke Samson Agunbiade Oke (Agunbiade III), who is his childhood friend. During this visit, the king requested for a crusade to be held in his town. That was how the vision of the Yes of God crusade in Ipetu –Ijesa was born. God used this as a starting point for His miraculous works in the town and since then the mission work has been progressive.

WHERE IS IPETU – IJESA?
Ipetu- Ijesa is a town in Osun State which is located in the south western part of Nigeria. This town has been in existence for the past 840 years. Idol worshipping was widely accepted. Even families that claim to attend orthodox churches still pay homage to the small gods. This town is known for idolatry. Wherever idolatry is, there will be slavery, wickedness, oppression, problems, and calamities and so on.

MISSIONARY JOURNEYS TO IPETU – IJESA
The Yes of God team has embarked on several successful missionary journeys to Ipetu – Ijesa by God’s grace. However, during our first missionary journey, according to God’s instructions, we conducted some prayers at various strategic locations in the town destroying the territorial powers and principalities. Also, we went into the palace of the Ajalaye of Ipetu – Ijesa, prayed and anointed various locations in the palace while claiming the land for our God. In Yoruba land, this could be tagged as a taboo but our God silenced every opposition because the bible says in Psalm 24:1 ‘‘the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein’’. Also, we visited the market for market evangelism and created awareness about the crusade that was scheduled for May 16-18, 2018. We proclaimed openly in the market that the God of LIGHT has come to stay and darkness has to disappear. The inhabitants of the land have been oppressed for so long and they were ready for great deliverance. We continued our preparations with prayers and also continued the publicity of the crusade. The theme of the crusade was ‘‘Let there be Light”.

THE CRUSADE
The crusade was one of its kind in Ipetu – Ijesa. The people came in their large numbers, showing to us that they were fed up of being under the oppression of Satan, sin and the world. The crusade took place in front of the palace with the King himself in attendance at the crusade. Various great ministers of God were present at this crusade. Evang. Bola Are, a gospel singer, was present at the crusade to minister in praises to the King of kings. At the crusade, the kingdom of Satan was depopulated as souls came in large number to Calvary. Sin’s shackles were broken, Satan lost its grip on its prey and there was a great liberation in the town. It was such a great event that has never happened before. This was the beginning of the great transformation in Ipetu – Ijesa land.

MINISTERS’ CONFERENCE
After the crusade, God instructed the Yes of God team to go back to Ipetu – Ijesa and conduct a Ministers’ conference. This vision was born out of passion for the people of the land. If the ministers’ of God, their spouses and other leaders in the church are totally transformed and saved, it will bring about a positive change upon the church members thus influencing the whole community as a whole.

The King supported the vision and the interdenominational conference involving all the churches around. The theme of the conference was “THE LORD REIGNETH” and it was scheduled for August 11, 2018. Again, the Yes of God team took it upon itself by publicizing the conference while sharing the vision with others.

By the grace of God, the conference took place and fulfilled God’s purpose. It was a great time before God as the ministers learnt about having three religions but one savior. They also learnt about fulfilling God’s calling upon their lives and living a life of holiness. There was an interactive session for asking and answering questions.

THE CORONATION
A vision that is born of God is unfolded bit by bit and is unpredictable for anyone as well as the devil himself. So was the vision of the mission work at Ipetu – Ijesa. When we thought we were done with a phase of the assignment, God unfolded another phase and this has been a threat to the kingdom of darkness because the kingdom does not understand the path of He who leads us.

In Yoruba culture, the coronation of a king is a very big event that pulls together everyone even those in diaspora. However, this event has become a great threat to the people because of the various atrocities done by traditional worshippers, ritualists, cult members and so on. This event should bring joy and harmony but has been turned into a source of problem for many in the Yoruba culture. During the period of the event, so many destinies are truncated (arugba). The traditional leaders, the King inclusive, see the event as an opportunity to exploit the whole community. The ritualists and herbalists do list various rituals which they must carry out to appease the gods of the land that are useless and lifeless. Hands they have they cannot move, eyes they have they cannot see, mouth they have they cannot talk and yet some people who have been blindfolded by the prince of this world, claim to have such useless, bloodsucking gods as their god. However, this time around, the GOD Almighty, the creator of Heaven and earth, shut the mouth of lions and put the small gods to shame in Ipetu –Ijesa.

Various activities were carried out during the coronation week and our God showed Himself mightily at every stage of the event. Our main call as the Yes of God team during the coronation was to put an end to all the evil and ancient practices of the land. This really was a challenging task but with God’s help we came back victorious. God instructed us to represent him at every point and this got us involved in virtually everything that was done.

In Yoruba culture, using Ipetu – Ijesa as a case study, one of the activities during the coronation is “IKEFUN”. A whole day is set aside for this. The new king is expected to move round the town, praying in the name of the gods of the land at various locations. At some point they may spill the blood of animals, performing various rituals as the king moves around. Also, as the king moves around the town, some young virgins (arugba) carry some demon manipulated calabash on their heads leading the king as he moves. The young virgins would have been kept indoor for some days before this assignment. The tradition is to have them possessed before they carry the calabash. They give them several evil concussions and are expected to dress naked.

This time, power changed hands in Ipetu –Ijesa. God, the LIGHT himself, has come to stay. The King himself decided not to observe the ancient evil formalities because since the community has been doing it the ancient evil way, it has brought them no good. God made it possible for the king with the help of Yes of God team as well as God’s backing.

Instead of the herbalists taking up the young virgins before that day, the Yes of God team took it upon itself to prayerfully prepare the virgins because the formalities are now different. This was successful because our God was at work. Also, instead of the young virgins dressing naked, they wore the glorious garments like the priests in the bible that carried the ark of covenant. Since our God is now the one reigning, a new calabash that contained prayerfully prepared items was given to the virgins to carry. The inhabitants of the land marveled with admiration because they have never seen such before. What was humanly impossible was made possible by our God.

King Adeleke Samson Agunbiade Oke (Agunbiade III) and Snr. Pst. T.H.S. Ijaopo entered into all the various locations together, destroying all the evil landmarks with prayers. Instead of spilling blood for rituals, anointing oil was used. Remember, the bible says “by the reason of the anointing the yokes shall be broken”. And so was it, the yokes of sin, slavery and oppression were broken down. It came to a time when the herbalists and cult leaders had to confront the Senior Pastor because he was hindering them from carrying out the various rituals they wanted to do to their useless gods. They tried various tactics but they met Him who sent us in front, THE LORD MOST HIGH. As a result of this, they had no choice but to give up and leave in shame with their lifeless gods. That was how God proved Himself as the God of all POSSIBILITIES on Ikefun day.

The coronation activities continued with our God in full control. The Yes of God team visited the market for evangelism during the coronation week as well. Many answered the call of prayers in the market and responded to the call of salvation.

Another aspect of the coronation was the crowning of the king. God, in His infinite wisdom, perfected this aspect of the coronation without any traces of darkness. The mission work at Ipetu – Ijesa is still ongoing. The new mission is that of “The Glorious Palace Fellowship which has started to the glory of God.

Mission to South Africa

When God said it's time to go out of our Jerusalem, miraculously, He did it. We went to South Africa for School of leadership and Church Planting with YWAM. We were there with thirteen other pastors from different parts of the world for two months!

All glory to the almighty God. The church at home was growing in strengths and the power of God even including the one a sister was leading then!

This testimony gave us the courage and it reaffirmed that GOD is the final authority of His church. Praise the Lord!!!

Mission to Australia

It all happened during our last phase in South Africa, We were really bent on hearing from God what step again He would want to take. God made us to understand that we should study the path of the early Christianity movement. It took off from Europe to Australia then to us in Africa. God said that is the same step He would like us to follow but in other ascending other i.e. Africa to Australia than to Europe. That was exactly what led us to the internet and on Sunday, 10 April, 2005 by 3:54 AM, we contacted our organization in Sunshine Coast in Australia.

What influenced us to apply to Sunshine Coast in particular, was not very clear to us initially, but when we prayerfully visit the web. We felt that more than other YWAM bases in Australia, the visions and location of this base. Is in line with the visions God gave to us. You need to hear the 1st mail we received from Australia “We have some openings on our base but I need to point out to you now that it is extremely hard for people coming out of Africa to get visas into Australia. Also the cost of living in Sydney is very high.” Can you imagine this!? Yet after serious prayer God said he has given us the visas to the whole world in Mark 16; 15 so we claimed it. God gave us what l called a diplomatic visa in September 2007 (without even going to the Australian embassy)!

And the church of God is still marching on, the gates of hell can't prevail.
